Cody Rhodes on the WWE Hall of Fame: A Brother’s Legacy and Future Icons

The 2025 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony, set for WrestleMania weekend in Las Vegas, promises to be a star-studded event. This year’s class includes wrestling legends like Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Michelle McCool, and Lex Luger, alongside the tag team The Natural Disasters, and a historic first: the enshrinement of an entire match – the unforgettable WrestleMania 13 clash between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Bret Hart.

But the buzz isn’t just about the inductees; it’s also about who *should* be inducted next. Current WWE Champion Cody Rhodes recently shared his thoughts with Fox News Digital, offering some insightful predictions about future Hall of Famers. He highlighted two names who, in his view, deserve immediate consideration upon retirement: John Cena and Randy Orton. “Love him, hate him, or indifferent,” Rhodes stated, “John Cena’s impact warrants immediate Hall of Fame status.” He added that Orton’s legacy similarly demands recognition.

However, Rhodes’ most personal endorsement went to his brother, Dustin Rhodes, better known to wrestling fans as Goldust. Cody emphasized Dustin’s significant contribution to the Attitude Era and beyond, highlighting his unique and compelling character that contrasted sharply with their father, the legendary Dusty Rhodes. He underscored Dustin’s impressive accomplishments, including multiple Intercontinental and Hardcore Championship wins, as well as three tag-team championships across various wrestling organizations like WWE, TNA, and AEW. For Cody, inducting his brother would hold profound personal significance, adding another layer of meaning to the already rich tapestry of their family’s wrestling legacy.

“The Hall of Fame doesn’t mean the same to everybody,” Cody explained. “To my family, it’s the ultimate accolade, second only to winning the championship itself. My dad’s induction was monumental, and I’d love to see my brother join him.” He concluded by acknowledging several other current wrestlers who he believes are on a path to future Hall of Fame inductions.

Rhodes, currently preparing for his third consecutive WrestleMania main event, a title defense against John Cena at WrestleMania 41, spoke to Fox News Digital while promoting WWE’s partnership with Clash of Clans. His comments underscore the enduring legacy of professional wrestling and the anticipation surrounding future Hall of Fame classes.
