Super Bowl champion Saquon Barkley, the star running back for the Philadelphia Eagles, recently had a whirlwind experience at the J.P. Morgan Tech 100 Summit. But it wasn’t just the tech world that caught his attention; he also spent time with members of the Trump family, including Ivanka Trump and the Kushner brothers.
Barkley’s time at the summit clearly made an impression. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his gratitude, giving a shout-out to the event organizers and specifically mentioning the positive experience he had with Ivanka, Jared, and Joshua Kushner. He even shared photos from the event, one of which shows him in conversation with both Ivanka and her son, Theodore, who Barkley playfully called a ‘future star’ after signing a football for him. This wasn’t Barkley’s first brush with the Trump family; earlier this year, Ivanka Trump hosted Tua Tagovailoa and Braxton Berrios at her home.
This encounter comes ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles’ upcoming visit to the White House on April 28th to celebrate their Super Bowl victory. The team’s invitation hasn’t been without controversy; online speculation suggested a potential refusal, echoing a similar situation seven years prior. However, team representatives have since confirmed their enthusiastic acceptance of the invitation, with head coach Nick Sirianni expressing his excitement for the honor.
The Eagles’ White House visit joins other recent celebrations for championship-winning teams, including the Florida Panthers’ Stanley Cup visit last summer and the Los Angeles Dodgers’ upcoming visit following their World Series win over the New York Yankees. Barkley’s pre-White House encounter with the Trump family adds another layer to the already eventful season for the Super Bowl-winning Eagles.
