Kansas Tesla Firebombing: $5,000 Reward Offered for Information

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is offering a substantial reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a shocking arson attack on a Tesla collision center in Lenexa, Kansas. The incident, which occurred on April 3, 2025, involved two Molotov cocktails being thrown at the building. Security footage captured the suspect fleeing the scene in a vehicle, though details about the vehicle remain undisclosed.

The ATF has labeled the incident an intentional act of arson, and a joint investigation is underway involving the FBI and local law enforcement. Special Agent in Charge Bernard Hansen emphasized the seriousness of the attack, stating it was a calculated act that could have resulted in significant harm. The $5,000 reward is being offered for tips that lead to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s), and individuals providing such information are required to leave their contact details.

This attack is unfortunately not an isolated incident. Several other acts of violence against Tesla vehicles and facilities have been reported since President Trump’s return to office in January 2025. These incidents followed Elon Musk’s controversial role as a senior advisor to Trump and his leadership of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Other notable incidents include an arson attack in Las Vegas, resulting in charges against a suspect, and an arson attack on a New Mexico Tesla facility, where another arrest was made. Tesla facilities have also been the target of numerous protests in the early months of Trump’s second term.

Authorities are urging anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward and contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI. The investigation is ongoing, and the hope is that this reward will encourage witnesses or those with knowledge of the crime to help bring the perpetrators to justice. The community is encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.
