Building the Future: How Black Conservative Leaders Are Shaping the Next Generation

The Black Conservative Federation is gearing up for its inaugural Solution Summit, a two-day event in Washington, D.C., designed to cultivate the next generation of Black conservative leaders. Building on the momentum of the 2024 presidential election, where President Trump saw modest gains among Black voters, particularly young Black men, the summit aims to foster long-term leadership development within the conservative movement.

The summit, scheduled for July 11-12, will bring together a diverse group of elected officials, influencers, policy experts, and strategists. Diante Johnson, president and founder of the Black Conservative Federation, highlights the summit’s goal of investing in “the next generation of Black leaders who will define the future of our communities, our culture, and our country.” Johnson’s own experience as the Trump campaign’s North Carolina regional field director in 2016 and member of the Black Voices for Trump Advisory Board in 2020 underscores the organization’s ties to the Trump administration.

The summit’s agenda focuses on six crucial areas: the impact of artificial intelligence, criminal justice reform, the role of cryptocurrency in Black economic empowerment, strengthening the Black family unit, navigating contemporary cultural discussions, and the growing political influence of Generation Z. Organizers emphasize that this isn’t just about short-term political gains; the focus is on cultivating lasting talent and leadership across the nation.

Notable speakers include Lynne Patton, former deputy assistant to the president and director of minority outreach at the White House; Rep. Wesley Hunt of Texas; Anne Marie Wiley, former cast member of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”; Alex Smith, deputy assistant secretary at the U.S. Treasury Department; and Janiyah Thomas, former Black media director for the Trump campaign. Alice Johnson, the Trump “pardon czar,” and Michael Harris, founder of Death Row Records, will also be in attendance. Several prominent Black conservative influencers, such as CJ Pearson and Xavier DuRousseau, along with members of The Carter Family, a popular YouTube channel, are also slated to participate.

The Black Conservative Federation, originally a networking group, has broadened its mission to diversify the conservative movement and promote conservative principles through political advocacy, outreach, and civic engagement. President Trump’s address to the group during a 2024 Black History Month event marked a significant increase in their visibility within Republican circles. The organization’s leadership includes Rep. Byron Donalds as chairman and former NFL player Jack Brewer as co-chairman, showcasing a blend of political and cultural influence.

This summit represents a significant initiative to build a stronger, more diverse, and influential voice within the conservative movement, focusing on long-term growth and the development of future leaders within the Black community.
